Thanks for your comment. I think most nonprofit folks can relate to this scenario–myself included–which is what makes long term strategic planning so difficult. And, of course you want to have some way to show–even to just yourself–that the work you are doing is having a positive impact. Two things: Fist, I think evaluation is something that can start very small and very qualitative. What type of an organization do you work with? I’d be more than happy to brainstorm an idea. Second, volunteers! This could be a very exciting skills-based project for a business professional looking to be involved with the great work you are doing. Does your organization utilize skills-based volunteers? Volunteers can help with fundraising and other nonprofit management activities as well…freeing up your overcrowded schedule.
